Readathon · proposed fundraiser

One page at a time.
A wider world ahead.

An idea for connecting steady reading with an end-of-school cultural trip—and inviting friends and family to cheer along.

How it could work

Read. Record. Reflect.

This campaign is not open yet. The outline below is a proposal for discussion, not a pledge agreement.

Choose a pledge

Supporters could choose an amount per verified page, with a personal maximum, or a fixed contribution. A cap would keep every commitment predictable.

Keep a reading record

Ti would log the book, edition, pages read, and a brief reflection. Trevor would verify eligible pages using rules published before the campaign starts.

Share the result

At the end, supporters would receive the verified reading total and the amount within their cap. Payment instructions and a transparent use-of-funds update would follow the agreed campaign rules.

Try the idea

A pledge you can put a limit on.

This calculator is only an illustration. It does not register a pledge, collect personal information, or charge anything.

Example: 300 pages × $0.05 = $15.00, within a $20.00 cap.

Possible destinations

Let the learning guide the trip.

Washington, D.C. / East Coast

A possible journey through American history: founding ideals, civic institutions, and the people whose experiences complicate familiar stories. Early lessons on colonization would lead into later founding-era study, rather than treating Chapter 1 as a founding-era chapter.

Japan

A possible cultural journey connected to later World War II study, U.S.–Japan relations, remembrance, and everyday life in another country. This would need its own learning plan, budget, and family approval.

Neither trip is booked. Destination, timing, supervision, and feasibility must be settled before fundraising begins.

Before launch

What supporters should know first.

No money or binding pledges are being collected. Tax-deductibility is not claimed.
